Lil Wayne To Appear In VH1’s ‘Behind The Music’

“We had to rethink a little bit and look at these current artists that are really big stars now, and maybe it isn’t the classic rise and fall,” Krim told MTV News on Thursday. “There’s the classic ‘Behind the Music’ arc, but in this crop we wanted to get some artists that were on top of their game now instead of looking back. And also, just because their big stars now doesn’t mean they necessarily have a great ‘Behind the Music’ kind of story.
“From our research, [Lil Wayne] certainly does. From the fact that when he was a kid he accidentally shot himself and almost died at age 12 while playing with a gun, he went through Katrina, he has [a possible stint in] jail pending. He has all the requisite drama in his life, which I think ultimately makes for the great story. The fact that he’s one of the biggest stars out there makes it the right combination that we’re looking for.
The revamped “Behind The Music” is set to debut in July. As of press time, the air date for Lil Wayne’s episode has not been scheduled.

Cudi Calls It Quits

Cudi, born Scott Ramon Segure Mescudi, is apparently finding it hard to adjust to the rigors of fame and has experience a measure of negativity early in his career. He writes in his blog, "After the release of my first LP this summer, I am not making any more solo albums.
"I am falling back on being an artist. The drama that comes with it is more overwhelming than the s**t I was dealing wit (sic) when I was p**s poor broke. My friends get mad at me, say I've changed.
"I don't look at it as quitting for I have already accomplished my goal. I have a solid fan base who truly appreciates me and my messages through song. I got multiple big records. I have received worldwide critical acclaim from the biggest tastemakers in the game. No regrets."
One of the events that may have left a bad taste in Kid Cudi's mouth was an altercation that took place last month during the NBA's All Star weekend. The performer was involved in a fight with two event employees that resulted in Cudi being tasered by police.
Man on the Moon: The Guardians is scheduled for release on Kanye West's indie label G.O.O.D. Music. Read more of Kid Cudi's blog here.
Water Bus

The Amphicoach is equipped with a choice of two diesel engines along with two- or four-wheel drive, is built from marine grade aluminum for light weight and superior strength, features a jet drive unit built specifically for the bus and a one-off wheel retraction system that allows the coach to travel up to eight knots. Inside, it’s typical party-bus fare, with LCD screens, DVD players and PA systems, along with all the required safety gear.
Pricing and availability is currently on a need-to-know basis, but for cities trying to stoke tourism, the Amphicoach could be worth the cost of entry… assuming it won’t leave pensioners stranded off the shore of Alcatraz.”
