Onitsuka Tiger “Aisen” Collection Spring/Summer 2011

As part of their Spring/Summer 2011 Collection, Onitsuka Tiger presents the “Aisen” capsule collection, consisting of sneakers, accessories, as well as clothing.
“The exclusive AISEN range is named after two Japanese words meaning ‘indigo’ and ‘dye’. AISEN products combine contemporary style with a traditional Japanese manufacturing process. Natural materials are dip-dyed by hand in pigment from indigo flowers to create soothing blue shades, and enhanced with cutting-edge technical details.
Combining this traditional Japanese indigo dyeing technique with new contemporary designs results in a unique modern collection of Japanese footwear, tops and backpacks.
The footwear focuses on natural comfort and includes the OKATABI range, inspired by the famed tabi, a traditional Japanese shoe that is still widely worn today.”

SSUR Spring/Summer 2010 T-Shirts

Caliroots take stock in the latest from streetwear OG Russ Karablin and his brand SSUR. “Russ started SSUR (Russ backwards) in New York, early 90s, when he also did most graphics for legendary new york brand Supreme. Now over 15 years later he is still going strong and this delivery is no different.” We’re partial to the ones they’d make you turn inside out at school.

The Carhartt Heritage Line Spring/Summer 2010

The Carhartt Heritage line is dedicated to Carhartt’s long history as a reputable workwear brand. The line is made of classic materials and colours to create that authentic vintage look and feel. This effect is made possible by special vintage washings and dyes only available in the Heritage line. All prints are reproductions of original graphics that honor the legacy of Carhartt Inc. workwear.
Retro-style details accompanied by a special Heritage hangtag highlight the exceptional character of this line. A replica of the brand’s first logo, a train car superim- posed on a heart – Carhartt, forms the Heritage label and helps to distinguish the Heritage line from the rest of the Carhartt collection. Pants are made from original fabrics and though they are based on Carhartt’s historic work pants, the cut has been reworked to suit the contemporary consumer. Sweaters are made from classic materials and printed with traditional ink for authentic character. Vintage-style yarn sweaters and t-shirts are made from slub yarn; a special yarn produced using traditional methods. The soft, thick nubs of the yarn appear as irregularities in the woven fabric, giving it a distinctive knitted surface and retro impression. A new printing process combined with traditional textile ink re-creates the appearance of vintage prints. This way, prints are fused into the fabric and don’t have the rubbery shine of modern designs. Hems and seams are stitched in time-honored fashion, employing the same patterns and methods used fifty years ago. Additionally, some items are washed for a faded effect.

Velour Autumn/Winter 2010 Collection – A First Look

Selectism have a first look at the AW’10 offering from Velour. “First things first; Duffle coats aren’t going anywhere. They’ve been back on the style scene for a while (which is what people mean when they say ’so and so has made a comeback’) and, if Velour’s version is anything to go by, they’re only going to get better. Aside from the shirting we previewed earlier, there’s a boatload of crewneck jumpers (our favourite kind), chinos and coats built to take a beating.”
