HISTORY:DR. MARTIN LUTHER KING JR. REMEMBERED

Each third Monday of January, schools, federal offices and such in America remain closed celebrating the birth, the life and the dream of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.

It is a time for the nation to remember the injustices that Dr. King fought; a time to remember his fight for the freedom, equality and dignity of all races and peoples; a time to remember the message of change through nonviolence. Although many people see this as “a day without homework” or “a day to hang out with friends,” it is so much more than that; it is the celebration of equality, the celebration of freedom, and the celebration of a truly inspiring individual.
Below is the full version of King’s famous “I Have a Dream” speech, which he delivered at the Lincoln Memorial (Washington, D.C.) on Aug. 28, 1963.

She gave an emotional acceptance speech, in her long gold strapless gown, and thanked her hubby, director Lee DanielsGabby Sidibe, and told everyone who has even been sexually abused that now is the time to speak up
The Golden Globes are well known to be the precursor to the Oscars. So it’s a good sign for Mo’Nique’s Oscar run.

Killer Mike & Dr. Cornel West Speak on the “N-Word”

The video starts as Mike is answering a question from an old head who asked “why do we still say nigger in 2010?” Mike answered the question, but the elder interrupted him and said “much respect, but I was addressing Dr. West.” Mike kept going though, haha…and answered the question well enough for Dr. West to pretty much agree wholeheartedly.
