No Homer – Hip Hop Icons Simpsonized


Format has come out once again with a fun series of characters. Last time around we saw them turn Hip Hop albums into Lego figures, this time the Hip Hop icons were Simpsonized. The set features Kanye West, Lil Wayne, Notorious B.I.G., 2Pac, Snoop Dogg, Flava Flav, Eazy E, Andre 3000, Eminem, and Fat Joe alongside iconic O representations for each artist. Designed by Moxy Creative the posse shot is available as a 11.75 x 15.75 limited edition (100) print for $45 USD including tax and shipping. Special orders for individual artist shots are available at $55 USD by e-mail (editors@formatmag.com).

Wood Wood x Lego Brickism Exhibition Opening


The Brickism exhibition, a collaboration between Lego and Wood Wood, has opened its doors in their Copenhagen flagship store. The exhibition showcases Lego sculptures by Delta, So_Me, Will Sweeney and HuskMitNavn. After Copenhagen the exhibition will travel to colette in Paris, Goodhood in London and 290 SQM in Amsterdam.

KiD CuDi Man On The Moon: The End of Day | Album Art


KiD CuDi’s official Man On the Moon: The End of Day cover art has been revealed. Initially pushed back due to issues including the album art, the debut album is now locked down for a September 15th, 2009 release. Man On the Moon: The End of Day will come in two versions – a standard CD release and a Deluxe Edition DVD – each adorned with differing artwork.

Drake’s “Best I Ever Had” Artwork (Final)

They revised the previous artwork, that was deemed too obscure, for the single’s arrival on iTunes. Download Drake’s “Best I Ever Had” here. It’s already #3 on iTunes’ Top Songs of the Week, behind two Black Eyed Peas cuts. So you know, make it do what it do.

This week was also the debut of Young Money’s “Every Girl” on iTunes.

Alife Presents Website Launch | Exhibition Recap & Store

Alife has launched the website for their Alife Presents series. The website showcases current exhibitions that are part of the series, including Reckless Endangerment by Kai Regan. Paper Origami Nike Air Yeezy Sneakers By Filippo Perin

Filippo Perin presents his series of paper origami sneakers. The recently released Nike Air Yeezy comes in its three colorways and has certainly been well replicated in paper by the artist. But he also worked on other sneakers. Maybe worth a try at home as well.

Dust La Rock | Art Exhibition NYC

Known for his recent album cover work for Fool’s Gold artists including The Cool Kids, Kid Cudi, A-Trak, Trackademicks, and Kid Sister, Dust La Rock will be showcasing his work via an Art Exhibition this Thursday April 23rd in NYC. The show sponsored by Red Stripe and Fool’s Gold will feature live sets by DJ’s: Dave1 (Chromeo), Nick Catchdubs, Vin Sol, and Queen Majesty. Doors open at 8pm until 12am at the Christopher Henry Gallery.
